I'm done!
High quality version (http://www.rylanderanimation.se/thingies/RA_bumper_high-qual.mov) - QT, sorenson3, 720*433, 26,5Mb.
Low quality version (http://www.rylanderanimation.se/thingies/RA_bumper_low-qual.mov) - QT sorenson3, 480*289, 2,7Mb.

I'm finished on time and I'm fairly happy with the result. I hope you'll like it.
The logo/bumper is cut-out animation, the artwork is all handcrafted with coloured paper, pencils and an x-acto knife. Then scanned and animated in Moho. And finally the whole piece was comped in AE.
In total I guesstimate that the thing took 20-30 hours to do. (I'm pedantic and could easily have spent another week tweaking the animation...)

old post;
Since everybody seems to start threads declaring their intentions to participate in the challenge I'll do the same.
I'm not sure if I got the time to actually finish the piece on time but I'll do my best.
Here's (http://www.rylanderanimation.se/thingies/RA_bumper_storyboard.jpg) a brief storyboard for the bumper.
The character is one I'm trying out for a shortfilm so I thought I'd let him do a guest appearance here and see how he behaves.

heey david, this must be your first art post on this forum, hope you find time to finish.:D

its looks great, what language is that written in?

Yeah, it's my first post this far down the forum.
The language is part swedish and part crows feet. It doesn't say anything important for the storyboard, could have left that out.

Thanks for jumping in with us David, I'm in the same boat as you are. I'm using this thread as peer pressure so that I finally get something done, lol.

Here's (http://www.rylanderanimation.se/thingies/linabritta_logga_low-qual.jpg) another logo I just did.
It's not animated and are not part of my entry (to clarify things...).
Just wanted to show it...

Thanks!
I have a few sketches for different fonts laying in my "big box of ideas to do something of when I get the time".
Seems like you could get a few bucks out of fonts so maybe I should put some together.

Ok, Here's (http://www.rylanderanimation.se/temp/Bumper_1st_blocking.mov) a first blocked version of the bumper.
There's still loads of things to be done but you see how it's coming along.
The style is classical cut-out animation, coloured paper I've cut and then scanned and animated in Moho.

Haha thats very cool David. Reminds me of a high texture version of Terrance and Phillip.

2 Thumbs Up

Edit: Had to correct my spelling.

If you have to explain a joke, then obviously it is no laughing matter. The film noir background? Some action being repeated over and over? Oh well...

Thank you!
You can watch some more on my web page (www.rylanderanimation.se), it's only in swedish but click on showreel and you're there. It contains works in both cut-out and 3D which is the two types of animation I do.
Now, watching the bumper I feel that my timing could have been tighter and a bit faster.
