Hello. This is my first post. It's a walk cycle with a panning background although the film does not loop. It's hand drawn and colored in flipbook, then brought into after effects for the panning BG.I hope to post more, but most of what I have was done for a video game company, and Im not sure if this board will allow it.
Hope the link works.

First of all welcome to AF Pongo. Thank you for sharing this walk cycle, the pissed off bear looks great :) The only thing I would add to the cycle is some shadow to merge the compositions a little bit more.
PS: We allow any type of art here , in fact we encourage it , so you are more then welcome to share the work you did on the video game.
We also have an Art Gallery section where you can post images and stuff.

TERRO-I agree that a shadow should have been in there.I'm a hack. But I will put one in and it should make the character fit in a lot better.
Neo_Crisis-I worked at a video game company called Hypnotix.I hope to post animations from the games I worked on(the 2D games anyway)
Thanks to everyone else for the nice comments. But I am very open to tough critiques and even suggestions about how you would have handled the piece of animation, for good or for bad.
I am always learning as well as willing to share.(that sounded corny)

isn't there a way you could split the photo into like,a foreground, mid and background to make it more lively, and have them moving at different times?
I guess that would take some clever pasting and moving.
would love to see more,i just think the scene is a bit too long, and because of that, the loop becomes too apparent.I would start off with a close up of his face and zoom out to see him walking across the road.so we see the frustration of his face first.Keeping it the same length though.
just my suggestion.

NOOB!-Your suggestion is a very good one.Splitting the BG up into seperate elements will take work but not impossible. But I think your on the ball with the last suggestion about starting off on the face.I admit ,I was'nt thinking cinimatic as much as just dumping a BG under the animation.I should start thinking more about how I should set up these shots. Thanks for the suggestion.

You mean Digicel Flipbook? I use it too! I just don't use After FX to pan the backgrounds because that's something Flipbook can do. :D
Anyways, very nice animation, very lively (is that even a word).

at first glance it looked a bit wierd to be honest, but after looking at it for a bit longer i realized it was just not fitting in well with the BG....the animation on its own looks good, but since there is no shading it looks flat agaisnt a photo BG. what was the method you used? traditional handrawn on paper? or in flash using a wacom?

Sorry for the late reply.I took the advice of everyone and fixed it up a bit.It could still be better, but I am just learning after effects.
SYKOHYKO- It was drawn on paper, then scanned and imported into Digicel-flipbook and colored.
Anyway, here it is.I think the shading on him is a bit much.Oh well.

Looks great! Did anyone see the "bare" walk cycle at Wimbledon?

Yeah, I did see that. The streaking is a tradition from what I hear.
