Aw man, iMovie couldn't handle the colors for some reason, so I had to use the pencil test version, and actually I kinda like it!

Working on it:
http://www.freewebtown.com/rageartworks/workingonitlogoanimationAF.net.jpg
The top image shows my animation desk, a simple calculator, the entire animation thumbnailed, character design and stuff I work with, the bottom image shows a few empty x-sheets, a few keyframes and extremes, and the Animator's Survival Kit pages 108 and 109 (on walkcycles). I'm doing my own version of the walk on 16's.

The idea is this: The guy (a very lame shot at a self-portrait) is just walking, then he sees an airpump. He grabs the airpump, pumps it once, and he turns around to look what he just pumped. The camera trucks out to show the Rage Artworks logo.

I'm not sure if I'll leave the rough lines in. I'm going to color no matter what, but I don't know if I should ink it. It looks quite nice in pencil test form, with all the guide lines and stuff still there. What do you think?

BTW: I'm sorry for the bad image quality. It was taken with a phone-camera. I'll scan the design and thumbs when I have time. Hmmkay?

Nice setup Rage. Is that a plexiglass disc?
Well, color or just pencil won't matter if it looks good. I like your idea but remember that it's just an intro so it shouldn't tell too much of a story. Quick, and effective. That's just my two cents worth. ($7.95 Canadian:rolleyes: )

Can't wait to see it. The 10th is zooming in!

Robber - It's not that big and fancy gear. It's all made by me, me, and my father. :) I bought a children's writing desk with adjustable hight ($50 usually, when I bought it $25), bought $5 worth of plexiglass and cut it into a 50 cm disk, two homemade pegs (not really. The guy who sold them had his father make it for me for $10), cut a hole in it for $25 (lotta money, yeah), but the lamp under it was $50! 25+5+10+25+50=115. A lot of money, but it was spread over almost a full year. Besides, the alternative was order a $300 desk, plus a disk for $40. $300 vs. $115. Hmmm... :D Money doesn't matter in art, I guess, but it's good to save some.

Vic - Yeah I know. Not much of a story though, is it. :) I'm going to color no matter what, I was just in doubt of wether I should go with clean simple lines, or with that rough pencil look.

School's being really heavy the last few weeks of the year, and yeah he 10th is coming closer and closer. I'll just have to work my ass off!

Thanks for the comments!

Hey Simon, here's the first pencil test! :D

It's still very rough. These are only the keyframes and extremes of the guy walking, pumping and looking. I still have to tween everything, and then I'll add the arms and details. Ink 'n paint should be easy, because I'm using Flipbook. The filltool has the ability to drag, so click once, and then drag the cursor over all the areas to fill. That will be done in a few hours, but the animation... erhem... that's one hell of a job.

BTW: Did anyone else recieve the email from admin@animationforum.net? Everytime I try to open that email Apple Mail crashes. What did it say?
Thanks!

:p I'm sure I can. I'm sure I will. :D
No really, tomorrow is only some english tests in the moring, then maybe a little paintball, and I'll still have enough time to animate. Then wednesday is only school in the morning. School's not that heavy near the end of the year since the beginning was non-stop assignments. Plenty of time left.

A Driven man! Thats what i like to see.
Well i've got to congratulate you on some very solid poses. I haven't nearly gone into such detail for this challenge, so i really dont think you can go to far wrong. Nice rough!

Thanks!
I just try to exaggerate as much as possible but still make it look good. The further objects are apart in keyframes, the easier it is for me to inbetween because I can see more difference. So I wouldn't call it detail. Rather lazyness.:o

All the tweening is done, now I only have to draw the facial details and color it. It will a few more hours, but I will make it.
My parents wanted to go to the beach but I was like "NO, NO, I still have to finish my AnimationForum logo animation thingy. Pleasepleaseplease can we stay hooooome?"
They replied with, "Oh, yeah sure."
