Hehe, this is so cool! I was googling for animation forums and found this place! Whee!!

Me n my group are doing an animation thingy to test our skills n have fun. Going to show the finished version at a local comic convention here. It's not much though, no story, just our characters animated in a video game opening kinda way n stuff...

Here's my group's DA page : http://mars-and-uranus.deviantart.com/

Here's our animatic on Youtube : http://youtube.com/watch?v=U1a1CmIpUBA
Here's the animatic in Deviant Art : http://www.deviantart.com/view/34896304/

This is REALLY short test animation fully finished : http://youtube.com/watch?v=oWnYqvStrqk [Yeah its pretty short but just to get an idea how the whole thing is gonna look like]

Malaysia's 2D industry is practically DEAD. So we hope we can make a big impression on the local and overseas people with this project. Hopefully make short films with actual stories and send em to animation festivals [OMG, excited!] XD

So uhm please tell us what you think of us newbies :)

Now I need to check out and whore around the forum hahaha ^O^

lookin' good, i'll say the animatic doesn't seem to be timed out properly for animation purposes. that's no real worry.

the rough shot with the scarf loop looks nice! lovin' the lighting.

Good luck!

i agree with jack *wtf a noob/jack agreement?!??!* thats its not timed for animation purposes,i.e. everything is happening too fast, usually an animatic is used as a time guide so people know what is going to happen and when.

but damn, great visuals, thanks for choosing us as your animation forum,u mean where finally google listed?? lol took long enough.

Welcome to AF and thanks for sharing your work with us.

I have to disagree with Jack and Noob here. The animatics worked for me. To me this is more of a intro animatic and they are usually pretty fast and quickly merge from scene to scene. Am I correct? Because if this isn't an intro then it is a little to fast, haha :p

But besides the speed of the animatic I think it was really awsome. It's got that Final Fantasy style to it and the angles of the shots really work.

You better keep us updated, now that you found us, there is no getting out :)

A nice animatic! It comunicates movement and pace quite well with the music. I have already seen your colour test on youtube and if you can keep up the same level of quality as seen on that and the stills on your deviant gallery, then your laughing my friend! Well done :) I hope to see more in the future.....

looking realy promising man, keep us posted :D. You might be overdoing those colour keys a bit there. You shouldn't need that much detail and it may confuse things when you come to colouring the final scenes. They have some realy nice colour schemes in there though.

here's one from a students film to show you what I mean http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/2721/1909/1600/ColorkeysSMALL.1.jpg

This seems like quite an ambitous project you got going, so make sure you are not making anyhting more complicated than it needs to be. Especaily if you are working to a tight deadline.

If you need any feedback along the way don't be afriad to post rough cuts and the such here :).

Look forward to seeing more.

Wow. Even the animatic held my attention longer than most movies. LOL.

Have you posted any info on your process? Such as software you used for the different stages etc. etc? I think a comment on the DeviantArt site indicated you use ToonBoom?
