i used the trial once.. :D
I have got painter but I don't really know how to use it, there are so many brushes and I don't know what to do with any of them! Maybe I should try and use it more... what sort of brushes do you use Terro?

Airbrush, Glow FX, Fine Camel, Square Chalk, Wash Brush Digital Watercolor, and A few Erasers.
My favorite brush is actually a square eraser I changed up in the brush creator and saved as a new brush. Instead of erasing I made it paint and it works wonders. You have to get used to the brush creator, most of Painters brushes aren't set up for Size and Transparancy via stylus. You have to go into the creator and allow them to be more dynamic. It's very complicated at first but if you just keep messing with it, it's a great piece of software.
I'am proud to say [God like voice]I'AM ONE![/end].
I love the simple water brush.:D

Too many features for me... Too expensive... Too many alternatives... :)
EDIT: I got Painter Essentials with my new tablet. Does that count?

i use painter for all the illustrations i do pretty much ... unless its real mediums ..... not that great at it .... but i spose i must be good enough to prefer it over anything else.
why do you ask if people use it? :P
Just posted about this in the toon boom thread, I'd have painter essentials, but even that gives way better line quality & such than toonboom could hope to, I'd love to use corel for inking, but cant figure out how to exprt from TBS, play with a drawing in corel, then import back to TBS for animating....
but that's a different thread :)
Anyway, I love corel so far, just need to get better with it.

I'm new to Painting in general I just decided to use Painter IX and not Purchase painter X until I have mastered Painting. I already know the user interface of the software and where the brushes are and other such Newbie things. I just want to know how to create Paintings and not how to just edit images.
I can edit images pretty well I just don't know how to Paint and I have some okay drawing skills. Not the best but not terrible either I just try to improve and challenge myself every chance I can. I just need help in depicting depth and semi-realism and progressively develop stylized realism.
If I can depict realism or semi-realism then I can develop my own cartoony variant.
The medium I prefer to use in Painter IX is Acrylic Brushes and watercolor. I'm no fan of Oils or Artist Oils.

I am a painter X user! It doesn't get any more realistic than the digital mediums that corel offers.
