my last 2 pictures.. one finished this weekend and another finished this morning.. 4 o'clock or something..

I have more stuff at http://malach.deviantart.com ... been making about a 150 pictures within the last year.. sorted in the galleries after date.. I started making pictures in april last year.. so the quality in the bottom is a bit sketchy.. but well.. it is kinda history and interesting to mark ones own progression..

but neither it is in war..
I wanted to **** over the focus to give it the feel that the spectator is in the midst of the battle..

I had in mind some training excercises from when I was in the military.. did some show for some military high-ups.. should secure a river for our bridge tanks to mount a bridge.. while we crossed the river there was several constructed explosions on the ground made with 200 gram plastic explosives.. and some people in the bushes shooting with safe ammo.. including ourselves firing with our rifles..

focus gets lost ****ing quick.. anyway.. that was my idea.. to give the feel of one nano second snatched out of reality..

yeh i understand the point ur trying to put across, but in the art world no matter how much you explain it,people will just see it as a bad composistion *thats art for ya*,i guess something like this would work more in a movie.

I know what you mean.. but I've started to prefer either the cleanest simplicity or total chaos.. the forced focus depth makes your eyes wander..
I've had a lot of disgussion about these things so far.. and no one seems to agree.. not even quite sure what I agree on myself. But on thing I do feel is, that a picture don't necessary have to be pretty. Sometimes if we concentrate too much on doing the things the "right" way.. we make things stereotyoes of each other.. a picture don't have to be a treat to the eye.. it might as well be a finger stabbed into it..

if things are too smooth.. we forget.. very easily, unless it is perfect..

Thanks for sharing your work with us Malach. I really dig both of them. I do have to gree with Noob on the second one, but not to full extent. I notice the problem being with the closest character in the painting. The one thats blurred out. The one thing that throws me off about him is that his head is not blurred by the arm behind his head is. Just blurr his head out and it should give it the look you desire.
