I'm having problems opening the new MX files in my old Flash MX, I know that the upgraded the action script to 2.0 but is that the only thing that causing the file not to open? If I just have a drawing in MX 2004 with no action script will I be able to open it in MX?
NOOB!

i actually don't have the 2004 version but so i wudn't know.but yes,the actionscript from '04 won't work in the previous version.
but a drawing in without actionscript shud be able to go in no prob.
i'm quite new at flash, all i have is animation knowledge, not much knowledge of the program itself.

It's not only the Action Script version, it's the all file system macromedia compiled diffrently that's why a lot of people cannot use their old backups on the last MX 2004....

If you're trying to open Flash 7 (MX2004) files in Flash 6 (MX)... you can't.
But what you can do is in Flash 7 goto the save as... menu and choose "Flash MX document" in the save as type. That way you're saving Flash 6 files from Flash 7... which can be opened in Flash 6.
I think that's what you're asking.
