the one i bought doesnt so it just sticks out and doesnt go in depending on the pressure
My Graphire3 pen does, but only a little bit (read: not more than necessary), so I can't see why this one wouldn't.
I have a friend who just bought a Graphire4, I'll ask her.
And maybe it's just exclusively your pen?

My wife uses a Graphite4 , actually the same model as were giving away. I'll check it out tonight and let you know. I do believe it goes in a little, but not all the way.
OH SNAP!!
How did you cop these prizes, Terro?

so you can only submit one animation?
Terro
09-02-2006, 04:46 PM
We recomend thaty you concentrate on one submittion but you are not limited to one. If you want to submit multiples make sure to have seperate threads for each submittion. We also consider Work in Progress steps, so make sure to post those up.

just to clear up any confusion,the golden apple is what causes the transformation of the person.
Its not the actual golden apple thats transforms.So don't do an animation of a golden apple transformating into a brick etc. etc..;)

I haven't seen Vampire Hunter D.

Am I allowed to do both? (It's kinda complicated, but will make sense once I get the animatic going.

Now this is probably a silly question, but are you saying that transforming the apple is out of the question?
Thanks for a great comp idea!

the apple *causes* the transformation,if you want to be clever and do both i have no objections,but..u know..."stick to the script" :p I'm sure thats what the judges are looking for.
(i'm not judging this one since i won't be available to do so,)

I'm going to try my best to do this comp. It's a bit hard to focus on animation after being in Flash all day at work. But 2 months is a good amount of time, and transformations/morphing is really fun to animate. I may sketch a few ideas together during lunch/in the evening.
Only comment is on the prizes; I've already got a better tablet, and I've already got those DVDs (accept for the Disney one). I'd enter the comp for the practice and participation rather than the prizes. If I win (IF) then the prizes can roll over to the next comp, or go to the runner up or something. :D
Good luck everyone!

Just for the fun of it, and something to do outside school, I'm gonna give this nifty transformation competition a shot... though I don't need the prizes, cos I have all of them bar one (the Donald dvd).

Beauty and the Beast was always my favorite. That is until Tarzan. And my guilty pleasure is Emperor's New Groove.
So much emotion in the characters for Beauty and the Beast.
flash are you saying that only girls can appreciate emotion? :-p

Random question for the mods: .... is there going to be a problem with cartoon-related nudity in this? Because if so, I have to change my plans D:
No, it doesn't involve gratuitous acts of carnal delight, just people without clothes on, that's all... it's a sort of biblical satire kind of thing.

LMAO.
So. How 'bout dem golden apples, eh?
Oh, and that reminds me, I was looking at some other disney movies for such transformation inspiration (say that ten times fast!)
They're not nearly as elaborate as Beauty and the Beast, but they might be good for some to look at anyway...
the Sword in the Stone (the wizard's duel scene mostly);
Mulan, the Fa family ghosts, specifically the big guy who doesn't like Mushu when he rises from the stone;
Brother Bear, where Kenai transforms at the beginning and the end;
There's probably a few more in other movies, but I haven't looked into that yet. Dunno if any of these scenes are on youtube or dailymotion or anything, but have a looksee if you have the dvd's or can get your hands on them.

if u want hardcore transfomation,watch the genie in aladdin.

Lol, as noob has said, I was only giving out ideas. Feel free to use your imagination when it comes to the apple and how it manages to start the transformation. You could always be tricky and not reveal it till the end.

Hehe, 101 is Johns baby. I know he's got some RL obligations at the moment and Vic is standing in for him for the time being. I try my best to be involved in everything but I often do not have enough time to draw. I do read all the treads. I'll try to add to it by this weekend. Deal?
