Great work! You have a nice sense of movement timing! My only suggestion (and this is only a suggestion so take it or leave it as you see fit), is that maybe her feet should swing back and forth when she is in the stall. Everything moves very well and then just stops there, y'know? Oh, and also how the hell did you embed the swf file? I'm an idiot and can't seem to figure that out...:rolleyes:

hey flash,about the forum stretching the size,both tags are set to a certain height and width,something to do about forum safety (ask terro)

eventually we'll have a scroll down menu where u can pick sizes.

thats the thing about forum safety i was talking about,allowing users to do that is considered unsafe,and could mess up the forum according to terro.

by unsafe i think he's talking about the flash pushing the measurements of the forums all out of whack. Cuz right now it's a constrained nicely organized down the center of the page. not try and force a 720x480 movie in this space and it'll shove things off.

I'm not sure about those bullies though. I probably would have made them more somewhat closer to her age. It just doesn't make sense to me that two guys who look like they're in their 20's would bully one so young (though I'm sure it's been known to happen). That and the fact that to me, through their acting, they come across as kind of creepy.

Well, that is only my oh-so-humble opinion anyway ;)

OK. I don't any one has critiqued it yet, so I'm gonna go and try.

I thought you could spent A LOT more time into the animation, we have about two months to do it, now I understand that you weren't procrastinating, but it is in a sense not taking full opportunity of what you could have made within the two month limit.

Also, I thought the audio and scriptwriting aspect was weak. The audio of the narrarator was probably the best part, because he had a neutral feel to the story and it really wasn't out there. Otherwise, it just seemed the person you got for Sally Sue really didn't try to PUSH the fact that she is a bit more cynical than regular girls. You tried to do that, I award you for that, but I think you could have pushed it more. Also, the bullies audio was weak too, the black guys voice fit the character somewhat, otherwise the white guys didn't. Going to the story - I noticed you tried to make it a bit funny in the beginning with the bathroom, I think I've tried that once....a long time ago. What you were missing there was timing.

That should have been short and sweet and to the point, instead it was a bit long and I think you tried to underestimate your audience by you thinking that they wouldn't have enough time to get the joke. Also, the girls voice while in the bathroom kinda sounded like "well I don't really have to many 'pausing' humming noises, so im just going to make this awkward" So I think you should fix up the timing on that.

Also, PUSH THE CYNICISM OF THE GIRL!

Some turning studies would do too, like when the girl walked it seemed awkward like sometimes you see cartoons where they don't exactly feel like turning the character, instead that just make it jump up and down while facing you. It's just weak animation.

I think you need to spend a helluva lot of time creating a mood/scene where the girl can be pushed to the fullest. And also? Don't you have to incorporate a golden apple? I may have missed it, otherwise, it doesn't fit the discription.

You've got the rough story down, thats good. Just define more. :D

thanks for the critique, i know most of what you say is right, i am still learning about animation from this forum, you should see some of my first stuff, you did miss the golden apple watch again :)

the narrator is actually a member of this forum, he did do a great job i did the best i could for the story i came up with in a day dream. If i do expand the sally sue story (i might) i will try harder :p

well from when i started making cartoons, i would make them quicker and half ass, now i spend more time

i mean seriously 12-48 hours on a cartoon is alot compared to how i used to only spend 6-10

right now im going on 7 hours on this (SECRET) production and i only got 49 seconds done

honestly if someone is working 2 months to complete a cartoon, are how many hours you think? usually most dont even work on it dayly so say 1hr a day 4 times a week for 2 months equals out to 32 hours

most have jobs and stuff to do, i just spend entire days on them :p

This may be a bit off topic, but you really have some great promotional skills! I like how you put the AF contest big at the end, and are getting this put out to cartoon sites!!

P.S. on the Newgrounds thing, have you put a lot of time in at the forums there promoting your cartoon to get voting stirred up? Just curious if getting voting momentum in the forums is almost a requirement as opposed to just putting it out...?
