NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - Animation veteran Tony Leondis will direct the comedy cartoon "Igor," which features the voices of Christian Slater, John Cleese, Steve Buscemi.

The feature, which the Weinstein Co. will distribute in North America, follows hunchbacked lab assistant Igor (Slater) who dreams of becoming a scientist like his devilish boss (Cleese) and winning a first-place award at the annual Evil Science Fair. Buscemi will voice the role of Igor's smart but grumpy lab rabbit.

Production on the Exodus Film Group project begins early next year.

Leondis' credits include the animated video title "Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch," and he also worked on the stories for such films as "Home on the Range," "The Prince of Egypt" and "The Road to El Dorado."

Doesn't sound like Leondis is interested in 3d. Prince of Egypt and El Dorado used it sparingly but were still 2d features.

Eh it's been a long while since I saw PoE. I recalled the red sea and chariot pieces and a few fly bys being 3d. Could be that all the backgrounds were 3D I can't recall.
