View Full Version : The chronically fatigued idea of my brain...

I've been working on this idea in my head (and several full notes jotters) for about a year now. I'd like to see it all come together in the future either as a live action movie (or even trilogy *dreams*) or an animated feature.

I don't want to go too much into it cos you never know who may like the idea and run away giggling to there professional industry contacts, but the gist of it is there's a world that co-exists parrallel to ours where magical and fantastical entities now reside that used to also exist in our world in the days of legends. The divide between the two worlds is gradually weakening and by a freak accident and a young girl is pulled through a small tear by a young wizard practising an ancient spell. Cue humourous epic adventure through a magical world full of charming surreal characters and inspiring landscapes in search of a way home.

I've spent a year or so developing this world and it's history and traditions and the characters and locations throughout it, so now I'm able to concentrate on beefing up the story/script!

I've only taken up digital drawing and illustration a few months ago, but here's some rough sketches and such...

Well, I like the idea anyway...

Myhatisoff, those concept shots are very very good considering you only took up digital illustration a few months ago. I love the one with the house on the water pillar thing. The story concept sounds very interesting as well. did you ever play a game called the longest journey? One of my favorite games and it kind of goes down the same lines, you should give it a try.

I hope you finish this project, make sure to keep up updated.

Thanks for the reply Terro! I'm still trying to find a nice style of illustration that I'm comfortable with but I'm quite liking the soft sketchy airbrushy type ones as it helps to hide my artistic inadequacies!

*googles for The Longest Journey*

Oh dear... It is rather similar isn't it?

Cackbuckets. :(

that looks promising!...
it sounds like Saint-Exupery's "Petit Prince" atmosphere ... :)
btw, what software did you use for drawing your rough sketches?

bah! My interweb connection is terrible at the moment!

To Zigotto: I use good ol' photoshop for sketching things out, if you have a pressure sensitive graphics tablet I find if you use a normal brush of 10px with an opacity of about 90% and pressure at 56% you can get a nice rough pencil looking sketch.
