First of all let me thank all of you who have participated in the Transformation Contest. This was by far our biggest challenge in both aspects. It was the longest and biggest prize contest we have done to date.

Before we annouce the actual winners, I want everyone that participated to know that you all did an outstanding job and all walk away with new knowledge and practice in the challenge of actual transformation. The point of the AF contests is not only to give away prizes but to motivate animation. I once again thank all and everyone who participated.

Ok..... the time has come to annouce the winners.
/drumroll.......

1st Place goes to Ashley Davison "Beechy"
http://www.animationforum.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1544 (http://www.animationforum.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1544)

This was the only unanimous decision among all 3 judges. It captions great animation, humor, sound, imagination, and of course a great transformation.

Congratulation Ashley, 2 Silver Talent Points are being awarded to your log and I will contact you via PM , so we can ship out the actual prizes. You are now left with only one last hard decision, the DVD's or the Wacom, lol.

Congratulatios Ashley.

2nd Place goes to VicJPerry "Vic"
http://www.animationforum.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1581 (http://www.animationforum.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1581)

This was a really hard decision, there were a lot of great transformations out there with a lot of potential and glitter, but this one focused mostly on the actual Transformation, and did a great job by enhancing it with great sounds and visuals.

Congratulations Vic, 1 Silver Talent Point is being awarded to your log.

Well done Ashley. I never did see the final animation until now. A definite winner indeed. Best I've seen in a long time. Thanks for the silver guys. Always appreciated and cherished.:D

To all the others, I'm glad I wasn't judging this one. There were some great works and imaginations in this round. A very well deserved hats off!:D :D :D

Congratulations!

It was really great to see what everyone came up with, i think i enjoyed that more than working on my own.
The other great thing about the competition, is it gives you something to practice on and improve your skills and problem solving. I know for me, i have a bunch of ideas, but i do not want to "use them up" when i do not feel that i could tell their story properly.

I look forward to the next one.

Plus , we can't very well go off starting a new challenge when Ashley hasn't found out that he won yet.

Uh, I would prefer to start it ASAP and end it on the New Year. That way I have more time to procrastinate. If you have less time to procrastinate then worry sets in too soon, and the gene for male pattern baldness runs in my family.

Seriously, though. Greg! Do you guys have a plan for the next challenge already, or are you still mulling it over?

i say give november off, if you cant take deadlines animation isnt for you

that is what ANIMATION IS ABOUT, DEADLINES! AND HAIR PULLING! when you got a deadline you have to get it done in the real animation world for television!

Daft_Wullie

But there's no challenge yet...You guys are confusing me! Quit! Start! Quit! Start!

Geeze! Combined, you guys sound like my wife! :Xead:

All jokes aside, we would love to do one more contest before the end of the year. And have something cool in mind, but it may make things a bit tougher for traditional entries. I'll keep your guys updated.

Thanks guys! I loved being part of something so inspiring. Comps like this raise the bar of peoples animation skills and get their creative juices flowing. Its all about getting being inspired, getting creative!

Awsome work everyone!

Truly...Loved...I'm gonna go buy it some flowers now.

How do you know what type of flowers it likes....

What if they are Tulips..... a rare breed of Mongolian Tulips..... from Khazakstan.

huh.... what then say you... what then ?

Daft_Wullie
11-03-2006, 04:49 PM
Silly Terro! Mongolian Tulips grow in Mongoland! Everyone knows that!

Besides, I think Ashley and his animation are more of a daisy flower. Yeah, daisies...

dlpwillywonka
11-03-2006, 04:51 PM
Pssh. No problem I'll just take over the world population of flowers and send them all.

First I'll invade Holland. and then a ditch near Interstate 50..then...Japan? Stop off for some digital treats. Then back to flower conquest.

Hahaha ;)
You can buy any of my animations flowers whenevr you like. I think that guy would prefer chocolates;)

Nicely done Ashley! and well done to everyone else who entered!

It was all completely worth it (honorable mention woo! :D) can't wait till the next compo, as long as it's not all over the christmas and new year period. I have a rather large essay to write for my uni course over that period and no doubt all my essay writing time will be devoured horrifically by the urge to enter another competition!

Meh.

BRING IT ON!
