This is a brainstorm I've had ever since listening to the Symphony and Metallica album. If you have the album read my thoughts then go listen and see if you can see it yourself.
The cartoon starts with "Ecstacy of Gold" and a fly over the kingdom filled with green lush fields and forests of trees bearing all sorts of fruit, a castle rises at the horizon, sitting next to the harbor town where harvest festival is being prepared. Zipping up the castle and resting at the young sorcerer's apprentice whose leaning against the open window, staring dreamily down at the festival. Then turns back to his massive pile of books that need to be sorted as the song ends.
Next song "Call of Cthulu" starts with the young man going through all the books and coming to a particularly old one covered in dust. He reads through it and scenes of the book flash before the camera for the viewer. Describing a great battle with a vicious demon. That was imprisoned by a brave hero. As the kid continues to read. Zoomed in on his lips, cutting shots of a closet down the hall that's flashing, in the closet is a statue, coming slowly to life as the boy continues to read to himself.
By the time the song ends the beast has shown himself to the boy and when "Master of Puppets" comes on the demon shoots out the castle window and out into the sky. Darkening the clouds, causing the sea to become violent, lightning in the sky, striking down at the festival, the demon becoming one with the environment, stretching out his new freedom. The Magician comes up to the tower and sees the open closet, the book upon the table. With a stern look at the apprentice he grabs a long wand that morphs down to support him as he uses it as a cane. He hobbles down the stairs, the young man running after him. All the while the Demon is still wreaking havoc on the kingdom's capital. The magician and apprentice exit into the courtyard in the sky is the demon, taking the form of a writhing tornado. The Magician doesn't hesitate he blasts the demon with his wand, now extended in a dagger type look. Saving the rest of the town, the demon staggers and falls from the sky and into the forest. The storm slowly fades but the clouds stay dark. The Magician, grabs the hero by the arm and with a whip of his wand they shoot across the horizon like a very low flying comet and land in the forest.
During "Of Wolf and Man" the Demon screams Hetfields line of 'got any wolves out there tonight?' followed by a howl, the moon coming out from behind the storm clouds, red wolf eyes appearing all around the Magician and our Hero. The demon finishes his transformation into a wolf and slowly picks up speed as the music gets going. Finally the magician whips his morphing wand around and they both transform into bucks with large antlers. The chase is on through the forest. (ack boss)
Songs to come:
"Thing That Should Not Be" (Magician Dies here)
"Fuel" (Escaping!)
"Memory Remains" (Exile)
"No Leaf Clover" (Training with Various characters in the 'wilderness')
"Hero of the Day" (Return to a Wasteland Kingdom)
"Devil's Dance" (Confronting the Demon)
"Bleeding Me" (Sacrifice)
Ends at Disc 1 I never got inspiration for Disc 2
(back to work will post more)
