Challenge Description: The theme of this challenge is DANCE OFF, your task should you choose to accept it is to create an animation of a creative dance. We will be judging this competition strickly on the funkyness ( variety ) of the dance, so if your not great at character design, you have nothing to worry about. The dancing is what counts. We provide you with a mp3 music file to use for the animation below. The mp3 is 36 seconds long, thats how much time you have to bust a move. This contest will span approx. 30 days and final submission are due no later then December 15th.

Dance Music: We were fortunate enough to get a original music for this competition thanks to M. J. Katajamäki.

Download: Lallaa.zip (http://www.animationforum.net/filedump/lallaa.zip)
if you are having problems downloading the file from our servers visit the artist page below where it's available for download in multiple formats

Artist Information: M. J. Katajamäki

Fact: The Cover for This Album was created by our very own Elephant :)

IMPORTANT: Because this challenge requires a music track in the background, it will be more difficult for traditional animators. (We will take that into consideration from the start)

VERY IMPORTANT: For those who have no way to incorporate audio into your entry, you are more then encouraged to post a silent animation. Upon judging we will watch it with our audio in the background.

Steps:
- Go in the Challenge Entry (http://www.animationforum.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=40) forum,
- Create a new thread, with your name, and challenge name :
example : jakiloblanco - DANCE OFF
- Use your thread to keep us updated on your animations
- When you finish your entry, edit the first post in your thread, with a link to your work.If you are using Flash or YouTube you have the option of embedding your animations directly into the post, using the specific tags.

Helpfull information thanks to Rasheed.

I just wanted to note, for those who haven't yet realized, that the length of the song used in the November 2006 Challenge (DANCE OFF) is 36.32400 seconds, and not 36 seconds as the challenge info states.

That is
872 frames at 24 fps
1090 frames at 30 fpsUsing 36 s as a song length for your animation would be either 8 (24 fps) or 10 (30 fps) frames too short.

Thank RageArtworks

For anyone interested, here's my edit of the sound file:

http://www.freewebtown.com/rageartwo...llaa120BPM.zip (http://www.freewebtown.com/rageartworks/lallaa120BPM.zip)

It's now exactly 120 BPM, and it's 36.250 seconds. That .250 is for the last beat at the end.
