I found this while browsing the drawingboard (http://www.drawingboard.org/viewtopic.php?t=48558&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0)

Call me stupid but I never thought to experiment with opacity with my brushes in photoshop.

You NEVER WHAT!!!!!!!!

!!!!

We need to bring you up to speed. Painter or Photoshop , I always work around 9 % oppacity. Very low, but allows me to do a lot of cover variations.

It would explain why I never liked working in Photoshop.

I'm playing with the job's copy of Photoshop and the opacity brushes... I'm "touching up" some photos we have in case anyone here asks....

Just wanted to say. Learning about opacity has opened my eyes to all these other paintings I had seen before and shrugged off as PS magic. It truly bursts the floodgates. I'm sure there are other lessons I should know too.
