hi everyone :)
i recently finished my animation story that i was working on it quite a while, sketching a lot of sceneries and characters, actually i started at this as a story not for an animatio, it was more for fun and having "cool characters" of my own to draw, then i made it more serious and writed a setteings for each character and special environments and that developed from there.

enough chatting :) ok my problem is that, i started to write the first chapter and now i'm workining on "coming soon" clip with a friend that is helping me with the music. ok so my problem is that, the animation is done with flash=vector but i have a serious dilemma for the backgrounds, i can do them non vector with Photoshop, thing that will give me power for the environments graphic and will be very impressive, but i'm afraid that the animation with flash and the backgrounds will not fit each other.
thought, a vector background can be good but i think you are all know the great differences between those two methods.

can you help me with that dilemma? if you have experience working with situation like that or what do you prefer to see?

thanks :D

APART from Adam Phillips work,i prefer painted backgrounds...i mean, just look at ninjai,or kayotos work in progress shots in the wip forum.

the only downside is that the file size will be huge.

S'all up to u man!

Yep, its a hard thing to comment on without any visuals to go by Ori.
For file size, doing the bg's in flash is the way to go.... but you can do them in ps and then export the final to quicktime which will make up for the file size.
Basically, I'd suggest doing whatever you are most comfortable with, and what you think fits the animation the best!

i prefer same softwares for work throughout. id rather take a hand made BG and then vectorize it coz it allows me freedom for certain shots where i dont have to redraw them again - i can fudge with the vectors.
hand made BGs can fit in very well with Flash or other vectorizers. its a question of matching the lines and colours. go for it.
