Don;t worry this won't a a political or racial discussion. I was just simply wondering how this event is being reported in countries other the the USA. I know a lot of you are non US members and though you could let me know. Because here in the states it's all thats been on TV for the last 2 weeks and everyone is glued to the TV and or Radio.
NOOB!

Well from what Ive been told, we are getting alot grittier news then whats been reported in the US. My sister is down there 90% of the time and we started discussing it last week. Everytime I mentioned something that Ive heard up here on the news she said she hadnt heard it. Such as the volunteers from several Canadian police agencies who were turned back and not allowed in to New Orleans to help out. I also heard about the survivors shooting at thier rescuers days before she did.
Its actually ironic, if you get Canadian and American news its like watching two seperate tragedies. The American news just arent reporting what the Canadian news channels are. I can understand wanting to keep emotions down and not wanting to report all the bad **** going down... but I think its the responsibility of the media to at least tell the full story.
I live in Australia and I dont watch the news, listern to radio or read newspapers and Iv still heard about it so It must be pretty bad.

It seems to be quieting down, the first week it was all over front page of newspapers. I don't watch much tv, so I go by newspaper cover that they have at my work.

My city of Chicago has offered to give what we can to the reliefe effor and all the Federal Government requested was one oil truck. Our Major got furious, we got so much more we could offer.
