I am really surprised no one has posted a link to this in this forum yet. It's all over blogland as far as I can tell (every second animation-related person on my list is mentioning it anyway). Did a couple of searches and nothing came up, but mods feel free to delete this is it's doubling up in any way.
Very interesting interview (http://splinedoctors.blogspot.com/2007/02/brad-bird-splinecasthttpwww2bloggercomi.html) with Brad from the fellas at Splinecast (http://splinedoctors.blogspot.com).
Go listen!!

Wow! Finally got to listen to all of it... good interview and i'm glad they actually got him to say the sort of things i wanted to hear, as an animator, even if he thought they where boring.
Thanks Bleu

NP Simon :)
Brad is always a ball of fun to listen to. A very intense man.
His rant about story was funny.

Hee hee! ^^
(Where's a giggling emoticon when we need one?)
Just thought I'd throw this in the loop too. It's a small abc segment I found out about a couple of days ago.

If you can get past the gaggingly obvious info that the newsreader spouts (this was meant for the general public, not people interested in the medium), it might be an interesting clip.

HOLY COW... did you see Andrew Gordons bookcase thing. Thats freaking awesome. Youd be lucky to put just a book case in most job offices.
edit: dunno why i didnt hear this interview earlier... anyway i found it funny that when he was talking how he got into animation he was doing crappy comic book strips. The same thing applied to me (except i wasnt 3) when i was first started drawing. A nice little connection there :)

Dude, the guys at Pixar have a life of luxury, srsly! D:
But yeah, the bookcase thing was awesome.
It's nice that you have that connection :)
I always feel weird about the fact that everyone I know and read about says they "started drawing at an early age" and blah blah blah. I sort of did, but then I dropped it for like ten or so years while I created havoc in my life (and my parents) as a wayward teen. It was only on turning twenty that I started to pick up the lust for drawing again... and eventually animation.
Feels like I've missed out on years of development and have a ****eload of catching up to do :(

The pixar studio (the actual building)never ceases to amaze me. What a weird and wonderful place.
Nice vid Bleu. As for catching up, it's not how long you've been drawing, but the want to improve. Some people will draw their whole life an never improve, but, like you said, you've got the lust for drawing and that's no bad thing!
