I havent babbled on here yet about TB.
For those people looking at buying either Alias Sketchbook Pro, or Painter, take a look at TB first! It's basically a "painter" type program, however the list of available mediums is staggering! I use this program more then any other on my computer these days for sketching ideas, creating storyboards, and painting backgrounds!
The particle brush system is bloody awesome!
As well, Ken, the creator of the program releases updates usually twice a month minimum, and he actually listens to users requests for the updates! He has instituted a few of my ideas into the program already!
The best part is the price however! The list price is all inclusive for the life of the program... no more having to "buy" upgrades... they are all included..free...forever! :D
So if you are looking for a great all around app that you will use daily, check it out! Grab the trial... you wont be dissapointed! (Hell I bought the program in less then 5 hours messing with the trial! :) )

its a great program, the layout is a little complex, and the oils are a tad smudgy, the problem with making these programs is,u never want to copy another program, all the suggestions that i could give wud make it just like painter lol.

but its really great,i can see it evolving, some of the tools remind of mirage,if it actually became an animation program, its would be even better

:D I actually brough the animation concepts to Kens attention already! The base setup for what would be required is already in the program... even a pretty basic onion skinning setup! I keep pushing for more animation concepts to be included in future releases... so hopefully we will see some!

Tis very nice, but it should be alot simpler, its a little hard to get used to. I reckon it could be a little more aesthically pleasing it just look complex :D

Yeah I know its great isnt it Rubber? :D
I found it through pure dumb luck! I bought Sketchbook a week before they released the upgrade, and the sob's wouldnt give me the upgrade for free even though I just bought the damn program! That pissed me off and sent me in search of a new program, and TB is what I found! So in a way.. thanks Alias (You bastards!!) if it wasnt for them screwing me over I never would have found Twisted Brush!

I promise I will pass it on Noob!
I have been after Ken to go the "dockable panel" route ala photoshop for awhile now.... that would enable those of us with dual onitors more room to work! As far as the overall asthetics of the program... Ken has already said that to him its the quality of the tools, and the simplicity of their use that matters to him more then the overall "look" of the program... He is an engineer afterall, and not so much an artist like the rest of us! :D

Rather then me asking him, join the forum and make the suggestion yerself buddy! :p The more requests for ceratin things, the faster they make their way into the program! Just dont forget to mention that I sent ya all over there!

i'll give that forum a visit after i complete a piece of art in the program,i don't wanna be all up on the forum like a jerk lol.

and yes,he definately is an engineer, its all about looks, does he realise artists will be using this program? Artists are all about the looks lol. :p

when i create a masterpiece in it,he'll probably take me more seriously...

*p.s. charcoal and pencils tools whoa!!*

and the acyrlics awsomeness,

not feeling the oils though, they seem like coloured smudge tools. :(

foward that too shayne. :D

Frankly the interface is bitcheasy, it just looks daunting the first time you use it.

If it's dockable a la Flash MX, that would be great. Not like Photoshop tough. I like to work with my working window maximized and those little windows allways get in the way. Dual monitor support is a must for any painting program these days tough, that definatly has to be included sonner or later.

Hehe, That little rightclick menu is a bliss :D

Okay, my current wishlist.

1. Drag and drop layer system, a la Photoshop.
2. 2 A colour wheel, preferably docked above the current colour selection system.
3. A navigator window, like in Photoshop, really helpfull when working zoomed in.
4. A skinned interface - even tough I prefer performance and features over this anyday.

I was having something like my current Firefox theme in mind. Soft colours so it won't clash with your painting. Would give a very profesional and clean impression.

Maybe I'll post his on the Pixarra forums.
Thanks again for pointing out this great program Shayne!

sorry i never left an explination.

well after trying it out a couple of times i really felt that this software is utterly To undesigned for fast paced work.

Can you remember where that brush is?

i cant it was nothing wrong with the whole quality its just the stupid design wich slows work process pLUS i dont have time to learn this software, and it isent inviting at all.

A software needs to look inviting for me to use it and even bother me to take interest in it.

ive gone PS and i will keep on going PS.

but its surelly great for people who are looking for a cheap software =D

but I did not fancy it the least.

There is actually a custom artset that allows you to assign hotkeys for commonly used brushes! ;)

I found it a helluva lot easier to digest the when I first started using Photoshop.... now THAT was a confusing program to get used to!
Well, like everything in this world, there are those that like it, and those that dont! At least you can say you gave it a shot! :)
