Ether is still looking for a 3-D person. No prior exp necessary, you'll have until Aug to finish. It's paid (reasonably, but not much.)

3-D Animator (Paid)

Environment specialist needed for 3-D background ala ghibli. We need someone who can model, texture, light, and render a looped grassy plain with animate flora. Work from our script and boards to create the scenery to move the camera through. Prefer Maya, 3DS max acceptable. Pay is secure and guaranteed by Quanta Perennial LLC, a registered New York company. Remember, this is a low-budget indie film. Telecommute OK, must have uninterrupted broadband access. Local candidate, NYC, Brooklyn, Jersey = all the more rockin’.

Link to portfolio or attach (under 1meg plz) to jpmartell@gmail.com.

We're always on the lookout for more 2-D peeps as well. No Flash pansies. That's right, I said it :p

I can walk you though it some time if you want to do it yourself. It's not that hard, Ghibli only used 3D in a few scenes for the environment, but it all depends on your UV Texture. What you'll need its a painting of the landscape , thats the hardest part, the rest is pretty simple.

I can walk you though it in maya.

Much obliged, Terro. I took a little bit of 3-D so I might be capable. For better or worse I have all this 2-D to focus on. I don't have access to Maya, and I'd really rather have someone really put the time into it and polish it up. I want to get this one out sooner rather than later.

The third episode will have at least 2 3-D shots and we're only going to get more complicated as we go along. Best get someone onboard now methinks.

But if it comes down to the wire, I'd very much appreciate a walkthrough.

2d work eh? I might have some interest in that one. I mainly use flash but I love animating traditionally (on paper), none of that tweened crap.
