AF is in works on it's full featured site to acompany the forums, we have the layout and coding already out of the way and now it's time for content. This is why I want to get your opinions on what you would like to see in a animation site.
What features would you like to see in a site that revolves around 2D animation.

Id like to see more challenges, but a little shorter and maybe won by the opinion of the entrants.
So say an Admin/Mod makes a thread with 3 options of what to animate/draw/both and then the people that want to participate vote on the one they would most like to do. Then instead of 1 person deciding who wins, there should be a vote on who the public wants to win..
just a thought, probably not a good idea at the moment but in future when the forum is busier I think it would work a little better.
I'll post some more thoughts when they strike me (which isnt often :D).

mmm kind of a hard one.
i think i would like to see some articles, maybe an animation group, learning animation like it should be (kinf of like the background workshop), some good tutorials, something like the animator's survival kit stuff.
it will be great to learn thing like that and make a weekly assignment of what we learnt.

I like that idea, like an animation workshop kinda thing?
interactivity is the key to improvement :)

Thanks guys, keep the ideas flowing. Imagination is key at this site.
As the forums are concerned Ani-Jam contest is coming up in the near future. We also are working on a award system that would give winners a second award avatar under their currect one. This will give them extra distinguishment. Also , me and Noob have been approached by a top animation company (We can't Disclose the name of that company yet for legal issues) but they have approached us in order to extend their relationship with AF. If this goes through you will soon find contests with real prizes. It would also make us the first 2D animation forum to snag a deal like that :) We'll leak you some information as soon as we get an ok.
A Tutorial sections is a great idea for the main site and one of my must havs, so you will see one of those for sure. But the idea of a workshop has not crossed my mind and I must say that I love it. We'll play around with it to see if there a conceivable way of making a workshop work on the web.

:D well,me and terro have our own opinions on how things will run,but i like the ideas so far.
the challenges we have can be thought of as workshops already,we will try to focus on specific areas of animation eventually, and give you more freedom.
Like instead of giving just simple tasks like make a walk cycle from these characters,we will go into more detail of the techiniques involved to make a decent walk cycle.and maybe kick off with tutorials instead of letting you go straight into it
Now,about the public vote thing,i've been on allota other forums, and at most , they claim that these public votes are only seen as *popularity contests* and the same person will win every time.
I personally don't have a problem with the public voting thing *for now* it will be a great idea.but as the forum grows we'll probably get the same complaints

Wow great news with the company!! Good luck with it, hope to here more good news :)
you could stop the same person from winning twice in a row ;)
or even put all previous winners into another activity, that would work... I think :D

When you guys say "workshop" what does that mean on a forum. Is that like a project everybody pitches in to work on?

no, thats a collaboration. alright, publicity! first of all id just like to say this forum is pretty neato( if thats the word) and its cool its designed specifically for 2D. so far i cant think of anything completely different than wuts already been said. i think animators(that is, those who have won comps or wutnot) wud eventually have some say in judging or doing workshops.
(goldlion, a workshop is like a class basically where u show ur progress and develop skills, somthing id like to do :P )

ah I got a few ideas to throw out here. Front page Interviews! They are suprisingly easy to get, you simply have to e-mail the author to talk a bit about there work. And 9/10 online they reply. Also one of those php news post thingos. Like the one on Black maze and newgrounds front page where the team post updates on the place and what there doing.
