Have you ever wonder why animation movie industry insist to pay much money to celebrities just to make the voices of the animated figure? is it really important? Do animated movie get blockbuster if famous celebrity do the voices? is it really worth it?

lol, yeah, financially, it is definiately worth it. and often times they get great voices. people like robin williams are what MADE movies like Alladin and Robots. alot of people think, oh you can just get some guy to read an off and the animation will cover expression. it doesnt work like that, you need a real professsionalw ho can recite lines expressively and engagingly.
so i'd say, to a moderate extent, yes it's worth it.

Oh yeah but their are people who can recite expressively greater than famous celebrities. And much lesser talent fee. Maybe its not about how you expressively recite your lines its about their famous and people who be interested when they know that "robin williams" is the one did the voice :D

Well firstly, if they are proffesional actors, than they can probably express better than actors that are not famous, just from lack of experience and other factors. Secondly, having a famous name on your poster makes a hell of a difference. People talk about the movie then. 'Guess who is doing the voice of that fish...' etc. Therefore there is high media saturation, lots of people hear about it, the voice talents do T.V. interviews, lot's of people see it.
Cause and effect. :)

Yeah, this is a sad state of affairs in animation.
Contrary to popular belief, voice acting is different from live acting, and live action actors are (typically) not very good with animation voice work. There are exceptions, but for every Eddie Murphy there are 30 Matt Damons and Brad Pitts. :Xead:
The best voice actors are........wait for it.........professional voice actors.
So why use big name, live action actors? The reason is twofold.
1) Name Recognition -- The big name draws people in, makes them take notice, and makes them think, "Hey, if *big name actor* is in this, it's gotta be good."
2) Promotion of Other Projects -- It's no coincidence that actors will do voice work for an animation a couple months to a year before a big live action project of theirs comes out. The animation allows the studio to get the actors name out there again, do interviews, build up some steam. Then, when the live action project comes out, the actor is already in the public eye. Half their PR is done.
Personally, I'd like to see most big name actors taken out of the animation voice work arena. There are many, MANY ultra talented voice people out there who could do a much, much, much better job.

If the live actor is a good actor, then most likely they are a good voice actor too. Either way, you need to know how to act, people like Robin Williams and others do both sides of the fence, most likely they are good at what they do.

Totally agree. There must be tons of voice actors out there that can do a kick-a*... uh... kick-butt job at voices for cartoons. Even me;).
And it doesn't even matter to me who does the voices. Celebrities, or well known voice talents, are so easy to recognize. Some are not so easy, but people like Patrick Stewart and E.G. Daily could be recognized easily.
Give me someone like, Julie Lemieux (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julie_Lemieux) who I'm sure most people don't know, instead.
