Hello,

I am an independent animator and I have just finished my new short "The Lonely Biker." I was a one man production so it is a little raw.

I am getting it ready for Marketing and Pitching for series development. Any feed back would be great. Also check out my other short films. Feed back for them would be great too.

dude......that is awesome. This guy's attitude rocks along with the expressions and it actually involves the everyother day experiences you would see in my town such as the tweaker.

I'm new around here, and I hope to be able to create something like this within the next couple of years.

Nice job for a solo project

Dude, I'm on your side here as far as the solo effort and hope you keep at it, but by keeping at it I don't mean do more of these for now. I think you are overreaching your current skill set.

Scale back for a year, focus on drawing, basic animation (see the Animators Survival Kit in the books section of the toolbox) and get some writing help. Practice on very small projects like walk cycles, after you improve basic drawing and get more feedback here on both.

Much is available to you on here and elsewhere, but I think people that give you an "attaboy" for this stuff are doing you a disservice thinking they are encouraging you. I sincerly hope you don't take what I'm saying as trying to be mean or discouraging, quite the contrary but you need to scale back and take this stuff one bite at a time. Too many bite off more than they can chew simply because the software creates the illusion it can be done without going through the preliminary stuff first.

As for voice, listen to more voice actors and focus on how to modulate your timing, stay away from robotic delivery of lines etc. All this could keep you busy full time for a few years or so, but even 1 year of concerted effort (skill priorities assuming animation is your focus: 1. drawing, 2. animation, 3. writing, 4. sound) will help a lot. Otherwise, you waste way more time reinforcing bad habits.
