Im pretty sure maya has the capability, but you might need to download some extra plug-ins. http://www.dgp.toronto.edu/~alexk/mayaexport.html

edit: relating to your question :) http://www.metamotion.com/captor/motion-capture-sapphire-motion-captor.html

$40 Manual mocap....limited but it might fit some needs.

http://www.3dutils.com/products/vm.htm

"VisualMarker is a fast and easy to use utility for converting 2D marker positions to skeletal based models. The real-time calculations provide full visual control at any stage of the capturing process. VisualMarker can use up to four video streams for motion capture."

I think I wrote the post wrong, hehe.

I am not looking for a software package, maya is capable of motion capture. What I'm looking for is the actual sensors balls.

Do you mean the cameras?

The cheapest ones I know of for MoCap are OptiTrack (http://www.naturalpoint.com/optitrack/) at around $400 each.

Here's a guy (http://www.geocities.com/mocap_is_fun/) working on a budget MoCap setup using these cameras.

Does Maya actually register and record movement from multiple cameras? Or does it just have the ability to read a MoCap data file?

Good luck...
