I think Anime Studio is only good for cut-out animation. I found it's drawing tools to be too frustrating to use! If drawing in the software were easy I'd recommend it all the way. Since it's drawing tools are too frustrating to use I would have to give it a really low score. But if you want to create an animation fast I would recommend it for you.

I absolutely hated Anime Studio.
I have an earlier rant about it in a thread i made a while ago about AS, wish i would have gotten more replies on how bad it was, but eh it was a lesson learned.

What i didn't like about it was you had to cut up you're characters digitally then place them together animating different parts, that was a bunch of crap. Not to mention all the stuff you had to learn just to make a decent animation. not very beginner friendly.

I do not recommend this program to anyone, unless you're doing some sort of cut out animation. there are far better programs out there.

cheers
Matt

But if you want to do frame by frame animation Flash is really better.

Hey wow some of that is actually quite nice. How was anime studio used? Just colouring traditional animation?

The characters were drawn in anime studio, characters are rigged, with bones, kinda of like 3d characters, but It's 2D. Also the animators apply traditional animation techinques so the characters look less like cut out animation. It's all about knowing the software and animation techinques. Then you can pull off amazing things.:Blahblahb

Do you feel the same way I do about their drawing tools?
I purchased it a few months ago and regretted it seeing as I was having a hard time drawing characters! Easy to use give me a break!
