CD 012: Diamond Dan

[NOOB!]

Daniel Jewls is an obsessed diamond bandit.When his former wife stole 2 million worth of his precious diamonds,he became obsessed with tracking them down,or finding diamonds that could replace his loss.Killing anyone along the way.

He sports a trendy haircut and sunglasses,and keeps a blade in his back pocket,the rest of the design is up to you.

BLOOD DIAMOND!!!!!
oh and he hates mickey :mickey1 happyness pisses him off :banghead

ONE WEEK! get started,1st place gets two bronze,second place one bronze.

Design Design,remember to think about shape,rather than over detailing.The exercise it to build your design skills, not your fancy colouring or rendering skills.

I stuffed the mickey thing in there as part of his *character* you don't need to show it,just a lil inspiration.(just wanted to use the new smilie lol)

Its design i'm more interested in,i know allota people that colour their work and add fancy shading to try and compensate for thier crappy designing skills :rotfl

but added colour could be a bonus,if I like the design,just have fun...i suggest maybe going blog surfing,or even to characterdesign.blogspot.com to seek out inspiration.

Well, what little hair i have, i bring it down close to the wood. As a result i do not take much notice in the current styles of hair cuts. This helps with that envy thing i am working on getting rid of.

Nice job, Shkin! His diamond studded sunglasses look very Lenny Kravitz! Noob, I hadn't realized that I made my guy with a diamond shaped head. I was going for a devilish face and a snake-like neck. I guess it is such a part of his character that diamond shapes are bound to show up!:banghead

A very nice detail of the Diamond Dan's personality. He have a hung key ring of Minnie in the knife - he loves Minnie :banghead

I think that's one of your best pixel, great work! I see a little "Spy vs Spy" influence in there, maybe just coincidence, but I like it.

Ok my final design. Its the same with only a new element of his personality :D

He is a great fan of baseball (by the diamond, by all means :D ) and tremendous fan of Arizona Diamond Backs, obviously :banghead. ( I'm not guilty of his badly taste on baseball teams ... :rotfl) and it loves stretching the ears to Mickey (good taste Diamond Dan !!! :D)

Well, I figured I'd throw my hat in the ring here, better late than never right? Here's my little attempt at Diamond Dan, it's not what I had in mind when I started, but I like it overall. I just started with the 2 green diamond shapes in the first pic & it kinda just grew from there. I have a hard time capturing strong poses & while I'm sure this could be better, it's pretty good for me. I thin I actually captured a good "line of action" for a change. I definitely like the roughs better than the colored version, but coloring isn't the point of this exercise right NOOB!? Oh and you never said he had to be human... I'll add some more bling & maybe a bag of loot when I get home from work.

EDIT: added some earrings & a bag of loot, but I don't know that it really added anything, so I'm just gonna leave it before I start making it worse.

I still can't figure out what I want to put on him in the way of accessories. Maybe I'll play with it again tonight. I think I actually like the look of him so he may only be a Diamond Dan until this challenge is over. I just need to figure out what to do with him... can a chimpanzee have a pet beagle? hmm....
