Man what a pain!
I figured I would try my hand at the bouncing ball project, so I whipped up a bunch of drawings on the whiteboard & photo'd each one.
Then I tried to get a program to turn it into a simple lil animation. Tried Pencil - No good. Doesnt work well with the jpeg files...
So i figured I would get FrameThief & if I liked it I could spring the $40 for it. I download it & its a .sit file... Okay, now I need to download StuffIt to open that... Okay, go to DL stuffit, which is a .dmg file.
Wont download! Cant mount the disk image. But it offers some advice, so i go to the disk mounting utility to change a setting, but IT wont open!
Just a simple bouncing ball is all I want...
Is there a regular program that I can use to make stop motion type frame animation on the Mac??

It looks alright, but its not ported to mac..
But that program looks like I would have the same problem that I did with pencil; it wants you to do all the drawing within the program, whereas I want to draw by hand then import the picture to use, either by scanning it or just snapping a pic of it!

So many great programs i never heard of!!
At any rate, I figured out how to do exactly what I was trying to with iMovie. Its the first time I used it & I gotta say its a really good program.
I exported it to Quicktime, now I just need to figure out how to post it here...

For shooting pencil tests on Mac Toki Line Test (http://www.digital-salade.com/toki/english/tokilinetest.html) is good.

So is DigiCel Flipbook (http://www.digicelinc.com/).

Toki Line Test will also shoot stop-motion .

Another app made for Mac and for Stop-Motion is Boinx Software's
iStopmotion (http://www.istopmotion.com/)
