Is movie anything like Final Cut Express/Professional or is it just an extremely limited editing software with a few bells and whistles?

The last time I used iMovie was four years ago!

I heard there is a New version called iMovie '08!
Has anyone used iMovie '08?

NO, but I will when I get a new computer towards the end of the year:D

From what I've seen, the new layout in iMovie '08 is similar to Final Cut Pro/Express HD. A good app for doing basic video editing, but if you want special effects... After Effects is your app;)
