I hope I post this in the right place. :blink:Here's one of my character designs, yeah I know I'm not that good :( but, I still working on my anatomy and etc,etc... (never been to an art school, is self taught  ) Anyway I love doing characters designs.
About the character:
Well he's a guy with a axe lol I haven't really made a background story about him yet, I just drew something. Later on I will draw his action poses and etc (yay :D )

Looking very good. My best advice about characters it to keep redrawing him over and over in different poses till you can bust out various angles on the spot.
BTW Noob, I think Neo is a woman.
Yeh, but the character is a man. ;)
Pretty good, Neo_Cris. Would really like to see action poses of this dude. Nice work.

Looks good. Rotations are a beyotch to do. You may want to get some French Curves to help out steadying your lines like on the hatchet blade.

Uh... what are "French Curves"? (feels stupid)

Ok here's another character of mines, Drake, he is a dragon not an elf.(see his tail? :D ) ;) Anyway this the cartoon version of Drake he looks way different from his manga self (Dragon Crisis)...way different....
It was pretty hard for me to draw him in this style. I'm so use to drawing in anime/manga style, I kinda drew him in a disney like style. (at lease I hope so :( )
Drake Daemon (soft cel shading):

Put thank tremendous link in your URL bar. French curves are basically pastic or metal pieces in different curved shapes. They're like curled rulers to draw curved lines straighter. I hope that makes some sense. :o

OK, thanks :) oh did you see? I posted some new pics check out the previous post.
Oh my bloody god.
Those new pics are great. I love that cel shaded "Disney" style you nailed that on the head. Nice sketches of him aswell not boring pretty dynamic.
Now get to animating dam you! ;)
Edit: How did you get that glare look on the cel shaded one? and Nubian how the hell did you do it in flash 8?

mmmh...like it ^^
by the way: which line coloring do you guys prefer? disney (lines in a darker color of the same tone as the color inside) oder anime/manga lines (means black!)

For everyday animations I preffer the disney line style, but for a more serious animation with a darker tone I would have to vote Anime. Both are very good.

I used photoshop and I made a copy of the cel shaded image(duplicate layer) and used gaussian blur on the copied image and adjusted the fill to 50% or less to give it that glare look.
As for line coloring I like both , but maybe colored line a little bit more.

Ok here's another character this time from one of my game ideas, he's the main character of the game, which is in it's early concept stage. I'm thinking about making a 1 min anime opening featuring the characters of my game idea, just for the fun of it. :D But I got to do more characters and etc so it may take awhile before I start to animate this.
Uh ninja guy....I suck at names, lol :

i like, but how about making the colour more one toned,or even less saturated,he seems a bit bright for a samurai or whatever he is,apart from that looking good!

Hey that's a nice looking design. I agree with Noob about the saturation thing. It seems a bit fuzzy. Sharpen that up and it will be a knock out. Get into the habit of finishing off the art (where's the feet?). Good job. :)

Ok I kinda of change the colors a bit and playing around on this one, I also change his hair from white to black, I didn't like the white. Ok let me know what you think I'm still playing around with the colors. Uh, the pic is a bit dark...... :(
