Hi, Andy. Welcome.
Some nice stuff on your site. A word of advice, though: You might want to try reducing the size of your images and demo reel. They took considerably long to download and view, even on a high speed link (a couple seconds per image and a couple minutes for the reel).
You don't want to lose a perspective employer because he's too impatient to wait for your reel, you know? :D
Good luck. And, again, welcome.

We're still fairly new. We've just started going on our 3rd year on line but the community members here are amazing.

ElusiveMoose:
Thanks very much for looking at my site. I have been told by other people that it takes too long to load on some pages. I really want to do something about it but have shot myself in the foot during the designing of it. I used png32 iformat images in order to get partial transparency around the edges of pieces of paper to give the illusion of a shadow against the wood background. Other formats that I know of only allow completely transparent or completely opaque. If you know any different, please let me know! I'd be most grateful! I'm no web developer and have designed it from an artist's point of view rather than a programmer's.
Terro:
Well you have been going twice as long as I have! Glad to hear the members are all good.

Hey, Andy.
I understand your desire, but one of the evils(?) of the Web is that we sometimes must compromise our visions (or at least the execution of which) for speed/exposure.
One solution to keep the image of your site the same, is to compose the image of the paper on the wood background in Photoshop. Then save as a jpg and post in place (making sure to line up the wood bg in the jpg to the wood bg on your page). That way you don't need any transparency on the web.
In fact, I would recommend jpg's for all your images. Your gesture drawings are about .5 meg each. The quality needed for such images is only enough to fully see and appreciate the drawings, not for reproduction or fine detail. I'm sure you could reduce these to at least 100 KB and not loose much, if any, detail.
Anyway, these are just some suggestions on how to speed up load time. I think you've got some good drawings and I look forward to seeing your new work.
Good luck.

Thanks for the tips! They are much appreciated. I'm going to be updating my site soon with new pictures so I'll take the time to make it a bit more internet friendly!
