CD 16: Mistie

[Terro]

She walks on the oceans mist , forever bound by the chains of the gods below. The sea screams her pain and obeys her every command. Her tears of sorrow absorb life as her long blue hair engulfs the souls that cross her. To witness her is to witness death itself.

Her name is Mistie and she is the Demigod of water.
Requirement: Character Design of the Demigod itself will be judged. You are not required to depict any one falling victim to her powers, but will not be penalized either way you go on this. Take this on in any style you choose.

poppycock! Go for it 1uc, I know exactly how you feel, but these challenges are extremely helpful practice! I know I've improved a bit with each one, and that's the point. Don't worry about your piece being some masterpiece, just challenge yourself to do something outside your comfort zone & you'll be surprised with the results!

I'm sure whatever I come up with for this one will look like a joke, but I'm going to give it a go, hope to see you join in as well :)

Wish I could comment on these but since I'm judge I can only observer. I will say this much, I'm very pleased with what I'm seeing so far. And once again, sorry for the hard character description, but you guys/gals are doing just great.

mmmm hmmm. There is some great stuff here! This is out of my 'comfort zone' (much more natural at ridiculous cartoon animal stuff), but that is why I had to try it!

I like the creativity here pix, it took me a minute to see her :)

The mist itself looks ok, I think the problem is that it appears to be too high, because it shows in front of the trees & in front of branches that are obviously elevated. This makes the mist appear elevated as well. If you put the mist on it's own layer & put that over the ground & behind the trees (assuming ground & trees are on separate layers) it should look to be much lower like its just over the water. Then maybe just give it a little shape around the bank to show the change in elevation from the water to ground level.

The mist in the bottom right looks fine as it's only over the tree near the bottom & has a perfectly natural look/feel.
