Any PAP users that can lend a guiding hand. I was wondering if anyone has any helpful resources or tutorials besides the official ones.

PAP (Plastic Animation Paper, for those who are unfamiliar with it) looks like a nice 2D tool; conceptually quite different from what TB or Adobe/Macromedia have us used to. At first, it seems like you just entered the twilight zone and woke up inside an Amiga, but exploring the Pro version you find lots of quite amazing tools, like the best rotary light table I've seen. I bet traditional animators could have a renaissance with this program. I quickly gave up on it, though. I keep having cursor displacement issues and that's just hell. I've seen some of the work done with it. It makes me want to try it out again, and actually spend some time trying to get that fixed. As for tuts, sorry, no luck either. How about contacting some of the people on their forum "gallery" and invite them to post something about Pap here? Just a thought. (I'll just go ahead and do that anyway, :-P)

Yeah it looks impressive but for some reason very hard for me to get into, and I used to have a Amiga as a kid lol. It's pretty much a requirement for school , so I'll have to learn it eventually, just looking for a easier route.

Ive Have been using PAP 4 Home for a while now (not got enough money for Pro I have to add VAT to it and its 900 euro instead) and I love the program! The only let down is I dont have layers and zooming/rotating its only in the pro version. Anyway my workflow is Start with the layout/background, I either add an image I have scanned or I draw it on screen the lines will be red. Then I just animate rough with the blue pencil first just to get timing and just to see if everything looks good.

After that I clean up and save as images (bitmaps). I then import to Flash Mx 2004 for colouring. Flash should add all the images into frames on your selected layer. I also add the layout picture to a layer below my images and clean it up and add animation to it if needed and then colour. I then trace bitmap for each image of the animation and colour, resize and clean up more if needed. Sometimes I do not use flash but gimp (or other paint software) if I want real detail and a more traditional professional look.

I want to record myself doing my workflow of a 5 second animation and explain what I am doing in a video including the flash/gimp part of it.

Only problem is I dont have any recording software. :(

Here is some tutorials from the PAP Website:
