I'm experimenting with those program. I was wondering if anybody knows why the backgrounds are always comming out gray when I export the animation in AVI. They are originally white, and as the character moves through the picture he paints white on the gray background, it's weird.

Maybe try changing the compression setting you're exporting with?
Or make sure you're exporting the background (check that it is turned on or selected in the export options dialogue).
Otherwise, I dunno. Sry.

I've narrowed it down to just the Cinepak compression. The background is fine in the Toon Boom playback window but any player I use (wmp, divx, vlc, quicktime), the background is gray.
Another question to add on top of this. The Cinepak compression option seems to compress it seemlessly but all the other ones look like crap when they compress it except if I go with a raw AVI with no compression type. Is that the way it is or am I passing something up? Most people export their animations in raw AVI for masters right?
I can't really help much except to suggest trying the TBS forum, I'm sure the staff there will be happy to help.

I've been trying to replicate your problem, GrandMasterK, and the only thing I can come up with is that your scenes have a gray background.
Open up your Scene Manager window, and select the Properties for the scene via contextual menu. In there, you'll see the background color for the scene.
If that's not your problem, then take kdog's advice.
