Hya guys,
do you have experience with this one? Digital Watermarks.
I've never created something which might be worth for protecting,
but since this week, I designed a lot of images and graphics for the website I made for school.
I put a sh*t of work in them, and I think, they're good enough for Digital Watermarking. In Photoshop is a link to Digimarc Corporation and the hint, that you've to register in their database to get an User ID and stuff.
I'll search for it now, but you know something about this, then post it please. Is it really without charge or do you know something similar.

So, I was on the Digimarc Corporation Website,
and I'm not wiser as before. *lol* I can barely recognize, if it is with or without charge, but it doesn't matter anyway.
Many of those "watermarking" techniques are totally useless and will not do, what the owner of the copyright wants. I don't think that we need another "Is Watermarking effective?" thread here around.
If ya wanna know something about it, check this link http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=255122&highlight=digital+watermark.
If ya wanna know, how to produce a really nice watermark effect with Photoshop, check this one: http://s4.invisionfree.com/Design_Xtravagance/index.php?showtopic=17.

Are you looking to have an actual watermark on the image itself or a digital one hidden in the file description?

If you want a hidden one, then just go to your file menu in PS ond click on the File Info option. You will be able to copyright it , add your url, description, author name, and many more options.

but wouldn't someone still be able to to just take that and change the info in ps?

Not really, the only way they can edit it is if you post your PSD workfile on line which you never ever ever want to do. Post JPG's, they can rip them if they want, but if they claim them as their own, they will not have a PSD file with all the real layers in it. Only the original creator will have that. A JPG file is ****, a TIF is better, but a workfile thats been watermarked is very hard to comeby and even harder to claim as your own.
