okay, heres a problem i always get in Flash MX.

I started to import my characters as symbols. I was animating a scene in my next short and I needed to animate a facial movement on one character. I had to double click the symbol to edit, okay, so i made the eyebrow move, and when i previewed the animation, the eye brow movement showed up on every frame and keyframe with the chracter in it. So for the whole few seconds i had in the rest of my movie, there was that eyebrow movement.

Why did that happen? and how can i fix it?

wow, uh, pretty unactive forum eh? (hint hint)

Well, it is a holiday weekend in the US and just a weekend everywhere else, so.......don't get pushy...

The eyebrow action is in a graphic symbol, yes?

If you select the graphic symbol in the animation and look at the properties panel, there will be a drop down menu that most likely says "loop". The other options are "play once" and "single frame".

They're pretty much self explanatory for the symbol.

Make sure you check every new keyframe for this symbol, too. Usually the default for a graphic symbol is loop and that property is saved for every keyframe.

Other possibilty for the symbol is a movie clip. These automatically loop independent of the timeline. Change it to a graphic symbol and follow directions above.

Good luck.
