Sunday afternoon, the sun is low on the horizon, getting in your eyes. BAM! The tires screech as you hit the brakes, your heart thumping. You've just hit something. You get out to investigate. It's easy to tell this thing isn't long for this world. Draw your road kill.

Was planning to get back into CD this week, but roadkill distresses me a lot.

Not much of a gory guy either, bleu, hence the "right before" shot. He's roadkill, that's for sure. Glad you didn't enter this one, though. That way, the rest of us has a slight chance. :p

I'm sure there's a complete story about "that awful day" for the ones the squirrels and cats leave behind after being liquefied by 2 tons of steel and rubber. "He was just behind me, when it happened. It came out of nowhere!" Or maybe: "He had just retired from the squirrell police after 40 years of service and was heading home... like he did every afternoon". In this case it is: "Our eyes met, and right there I knew I had found love, when all of a sudden, SPLAT!!"

The family of possums crying their eyes out is tragic and hilarious at the same time. True tragi-comedy! :D I'm laughing but I can't but feel for the little fellas... very successful cartoon... you've got me emoting for 2D possums.:D
