Hi guys,

I am writing with what I hope may be an exciting oppertunity that someone around here might be able to help me out with. I graduated from Uni last year and went about setting up a small production company. So we've been active for just on a year now, our aim is to produce media for online consumption, and we've just got our first decent sized commission from an marketing company called Milward Brown (www.millwardbrown.com/). They have undertaken a brand study (www.brandz.com) in which they are examining the way the conventions by which products are marketed reinforce their brand identity, part of which attributes 'characters' to different styles of marketing. We have been given 15,000 to produce ten one minute films that illustrate the different characters for use online and in presentations, with complete creative freedom, within reason, to originate concepts provided they convey the necessary tone.

For us this is a great opportunity to produce a diverse array of work, and for one of these projects, made for the character of 'Dreamer', we would love to mix live-action and animation. We have a very limited knowledge of what the animation process, in all of it's varied forms, entails, and are interested in any ideas you might have. We are working with approximately 1000 for this one at the minute, and as per our conversation earlier are leaning toward stop-motion due to it's relative affordability. Whilst we can't provide a large budget with which to work, we can offer a lot of creative freedom. We like the idea of the clockwork dancer coming to life in front of a young child's eyes, but if there are any ideas with a similar vibe (doesn't have to involve kids or toys or anything, just thought it would be cool) that you've got and would like to do we'd love to hear them. The constraints are fairly obvious: no violence, profanity or overt sexual content and it has to vaguely adhere to the character profile presented in the study (which we've interpreted as basically anything fantastic or extraordinary that conveys a sense of imagination). If the budget can't quite get the job done then maybe we can squeeze some from another film.

Look forward to hearing you're ideas, and feel free to email me privatly at b.mercer@bravuramedia.co.uk.
