help! problem with flipbook and avi

I have used Flipbook for several years, andnow I am trying to animate on top of video footage. According to the tutorial I should be able to import avi files, but when I try to import them nothing happens. Only when I experimented and tried importing an old flipbook avi file did it work. I have tried converting the avi to different codecs. Has anyone successfully done this?

Sorry, flipbook and I have had a terrible relationship from the start, and we parted ways long ago. I would have suggested the codecs, but you've already thought of that one.

Can you import quicktime mov files? If so, why not try converting your avi to a mov and see if that works.
