Hey CS. Welcome to the writer's corner.

Honestly your question is one of the most common in the industry. It's also one of the most difficult to answer. That sounds a bit loaded but it's true.

The long and short of it is the best way to sell a script is to be represented by an agent. And the only way to get an agent is to sell a script. Did that get a double-take? wha-wha? It's a complete Catch 22 and the only way to sell your first script is to break out of that trap.

First, I recommend that you go ahead and write the script. Even if you're unsure that someone will buy it it's still better to have a finished script in hand than a detailed brainstorm.

After that you'll want to send it down a few avenues- you can enter it in screenplay competitions for instance. Winning one is good for the resume and sometimes brings prizes, tho u still might not sell it. Another would be to go to a book store and find a production guide that lists all the writing agencies. Some of these will mention if the place will read unsolicited (ie, unrepresented) material. Or you can sign up to be a writer's guild Associate for $75 bucks annually and they have some web resources you can use. It is an arduous, frustrating, and bleak business but the only way to succeed is to persist.

The last thing I will mention is that getting a sci-fi script sold right off the bat is unlikely even if you knock it out of the park. Budgets for the fantastic are still high enough for people to not take a chance on a newcomer. A shame, but that seems to be where the industry is right now. Still, it's better to write it than not.

lemme know if there's anything I can do to help

it would be a scene were a character recounts the past and its done via 2d animation.
