I had a question to pose to everyone.

I'd like to make the Character Designs more about the challenge and less about the competition. I'll keep updating them weekly, but they'll have an open deadline.

So the question is do you want to keep the awards or do away with them for the Character Design Challenge?

What about having them run for a month?

What about having them run for a month?

On this note, there is no reason we have to wait until the current one is through before we start the next one. We can just run them weekly or bi-weekly and have each one last 3-weeks or a month. It shouldn't be much more trouble to keep track of than the current system.

An open challenge sounds good by me. I like to have a CD challenge available when I get some free time (not often) and have been disappointed when I've gone to try one only to find there wasn't a challenge up for that week.

For those that still want to include prizes/competition, you could offer a quarterly prize (merit medals) based on the best submissions for any of the challenges during that quarter...

Just a thought... :o

I like ElusiveM's idea...but I think we can turn it into even more of a learning experience...similar to the animation challenges... since the idea is that we grow from the experience and help each other out...it might be cool if each weekly challenge had a 3 to four week deadline and then during the course of those 3 weeks... the artists receives critiques on how to improve what their going with... or to discuss how the character may/maynot conform to the moderated character prompt so they can adjust it...then they go ahead and send a 'final' submission to be juried.
