I can't wait to get started! I'll be animating in 2D (my personal favorite). I'm also excited to see everyone else's progress too. :)
Hey Nyachu, welcome to the challenge :) Good luck with your entry ! Cheers!

Thanks, Ferx! :D
Okay, so at the start, I meant to update with a little bit every now and then, but due to some unexpected circumstances, that turned out to be harder than I thought. ^^; I have been working away on it though, and here's some quick character sketches to start (will post final character sheet soon):
Name is Sack-eh; he's from Canada, playing lacrosse. :rotfl Though as you can see below, he started out in badminton. And he's kind of like Arnold...he has no last name. ^^ Well, not as of right now, anyway.

Here's some more WIP:
<object width="425" height="350"> <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/cl3rAvSyz-c"> </param> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/cl3rAvSyz-c" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"> </embed> </object>
I decided to go with lacrosse for the sport, but before that Sack-eh was originally playing badminton, so that's why this first one has him with a racket and a shuttlecock (birdie). It's also very...rough.
<object width="425" height="350"> <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/jtvcSxdxPmQ"> </param> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/jtvcSxdxPmQ" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"> </embed> </object>
Now he's actually playing lacrosse! Sorry to say the ball's absent from this one though.

Okay, now there's a ball. I still have to fix a couple things though as I keep going. And I just realized as I'm typing this that the lineart is a bit hard to see, so I'll figure that out too.
I work at a bit of a slow pace, but I'm making a ton of progress mentally, so I'm happy that this is at least a learning experience. :D
Nice works, only one thing, Lacross is not a summer olympic game :) (badminton it is)
In the third video, the ball is really slow. Think in the timing that take the ball to reach the cross. Take a ball (a real ball) and throw it to a wall and feel the speed, look the motion. Take reference on real lacross videos. Only a comment :)

Thanks for the comment; I was hoping someone would offer me a little feedback. :) I could actually feel myself that the timing of the ball was off - it's just one of the things I need to work on.
I don't remember where I saw it that I thought lacrosse was a summer olympic sport...oops! :rolleyes: I guess Sack-eh's in for a rude awakening once he gets there. XD Thanks for letting me know though. :) I knew badminton is, so maybe I should just switch back to it. ^^;

I think it might have been once, just like cricket was. On badminton - I once smashed and nearly knocked my partner out - vicious sport.
