Hey guys.
This sounds like fun.
I'm thinking of doing a flour sack jumping in a pool (guess that would be diving).

I'm not great at drawing, but I'd like to try animating it in 2d (flipbook).

Good luck to all of you.

I hope this will pass as a character sheet:

Now, I really don't draw well, so I think I will spent way too much time getting the drawings to work, instead of animation, but I'm sure I'll learn something :)

The plan is to make him jump into a pool, doing some cool stuff in the air, but then hit the water pretty hard and explode into a flour cloud :)

Should get started :/

Spent 5 min. in maya, create this very rough background plate.
It think it'll serve its perpose. To me it's faster to do this in 3d, as I don't have to worry about perspective.

Let me know what you think :P

Okay, began animating a bit.
Still a LOT of work, but at least I now got something to work off of :)

Bit of a belly-flop technique. Is he going to empty the swimming pool? :D

Great background.

Haha, that's the very same thing I was going to do at first but changed my event. :rotfl Looks good so far. Love the belly flop!:D:D

Here it is in quicktime:

Maybe a little pause before the dive perhaps? Maybe a bit of fright? Love it though!:D

yes, a little bit more timing in air, at the higher position of the jump,
to make the fall more furious would be welcome.
hilarious, indeed ! though Sackosy should be shorter I think, ... or with heel-pads ! :D

Hahaha! Listen to us. All competing and telling everyone else how they have to do it! Love it, as the payback will be beauty!:D:D:D:banghead

@ZigOtto: Thank you for your comment :)
Yeah, a stop before the jump would be nice. I'll try to make that.

@vicjperry: Haha, yeah... Well, we can all spot good animation. But creating it is a lot harder :D

But it's actually quite nice this 2d thing. I'm in the middle of a short film project in Maya, and I'm trying to make a fairly complicated character rig (setup), and it just gets way more technical than I like... hate it... arrr...

Looks great so far! :D Your combination of 2d and 3d really works well.
