Well I'm still hard at work on the LBS, but that will take a long long time to tie together. As I stated before, I will release a Animators Toolbox application first, which will be a ligth weight version of LBS with most off the tools. The major difference between Animators Toolbox and LBS will be the lack of a project workspace environment. Meaning you will only be able to use the tools as you need then, where in LBS you can create an entire project and save it.
Anyways , heres a screenshot of the new User Interface. It's much nicer then the old one.

The ToolBox features a
InBeTweener
Frame Calculator
Image Viewer (with a Always on Top Option for Refrence)
Stop Watch (also with a Always on Top Option)
Note Pad/Post It Editor
NTSC/Pal Ref List
Project Calendar (Coming Soon)
Help System for Dummies
Quick Links to Animation Sites and Forums
The list is in order and corresponds to the icons in the image

Naw, this isn't that tough of a cookie to make money of off. We may genereta some revenue for the site with LBS though. That will be a nice software package. Anyhow, what do you think of the new look, is it a keeper?
Awesome man!
Greg, you should make custom icons.
EDIT: As for the bg, maybe a lightish blue. Like the forum. ;)

I will once I get thew coding out of the way, for now I'm using standars window icons. To think of it, I don't even have an application to make ICO files in. :( I had a plug in for photoshop a long tim ago but it didn't work that great.
If anyone is interested in helping out, I need 32X32 images for all icons, PNG transparent files will do :)

actually i agree with the icons and the bg.
and i already have an idea for the LBS 4 second startup anim aswell.
btw will LBS have x-sheet and stuff? i think u mentioned that.

Yeah , there will be a dope sheet in LBS as well as a ton of Character/Environment development tools. But LBS will take a very long time to prosper. The code gets really comlicated when you need to tie everything into working with eachother in a project environment.

*glad i'm not you*
:D
it could also be good for the 2d and 3d animation world aswell i guess. :D $$$ cha-ching!
Hell yeah. When the site is done and everything is running so sweet start promiting the site along with this. CHA-CHING AR-LING.
Greg, do the icons need transparant background?
Terro
01-02-2006, 04:26 PM
You know, I never though about 3D , but yeah most of the tools could be crossed over. It's a pre-production tool so why not. As far as $$$ goes, I doubt we'll get anything, this .net programing is getting so much easier, any shmuck like me will be able to create his own tools. Especially since microsoft is releasing the new C# express studio for free. I personally think it's awsome and with in the next few years the net will be flooded with great independant applications.

King- yeah use png with transparacy if you can.

Thats Pimp Anthony, thank you once again. This saved me a ton of work. You're very good at this btw, I hate Icons.
I'll upload the final image once I get some free time at work.
Ps: Could I trouble you for one more Icon. I was thinking of also implementing a simple web browser into the ToolBox. So whenever you have the time and if it wouldn't be too much trouble, some type of browser icon would be awsome.

Just a small update, I'm about 50% done with the application. With Tony's help we now have a collection of custom Icons for the ToolBox.
Here's is a screenshot of the how it currently looks.
http://www.animationforum.net/filedump/tbbeta1.jpg
I'm alsmost done with the Webbrowser as well as the stop watch. I didn't include them in the image because they are still not functional.
If all goes well, they will be finished today, only leaving the Image viewer, NTSC chart, Links, and Calendar before I'll release a working copy.
Hopefully sometime next week.

u'll need to have a little knowledge of *industry* animation to know what any of this is about robber heh.
from what i've seen from you,u started out exactly how i did which was just making drawings and *animating* without any real knowledge of animation.
but thats what this forum is for :D gaining knowledge.

Tony : Actually I have removed the quicklinks Icon and implemented it inside the browser. When you click on the URL box, you can open it up to quickly reveal a list of the Links. This is a smarter approach. Nubian : Thank You, I just finished the Stop Watch BTW :)

Well if you're liked there, like on the forums, NewGrounds (www.newgrounds.com) can actually be a really helpful place, so maybe that's worth tossing in. And what about flashkit.com? it's a pretty useful place for free domain music and sounds
I could'nt think of a good 'about box'. :o

PS: Heres a link to the version I let out after you went on leave http://www.animationforum.net/forum/showthread.php?t=603 (http://www.animationforum.net/forum/showthread.php?t=603&highlight=toolbox)

Okay, I'm confused:confused: I never had the beta version so I downloaded the new one. It looks like the old one, not like the one in the screenshot. Plus, it opens up as a full window. I assume it's suppose to be a stand alone tool bar?
What did I do wrong?
Terro
05-26-2006, 09:55 PM
Yeah Uninstall it. this is the newest version
Download the Animation ToolBox (http://www.animationforum.net/filedump/Animators ToolBox.zip)

Okay, the one I downloaded originally (and uninstalled) and the new link you gave me are the same. It's still not a bar but a window and the icons look nothing like on your screen shot. Mine is the top one.
Sorry for the hassel.
