I just got a call for my first major audition for an animated series on tv. I am so excited but I have no idea what to prepare.

Any advise for your first professional audition???

Here is my website if you want to listen to samples that I sent them. http://lindzreiss.webs.com/

Ack!!!!

the sound clips aren't working on your site. at least i can't get them to work. the LOTR vid sounded pretty good.

as far as the audition, just read what they give you, and maske sure you drink some water first!!! a friend of mine went to do a spot for a local TV ad, and his throat was dry, so his voice cracked. they fired him on the spot.

I got the sounds to work... by putting the volume up to max! LindZ, when you get the chance, use some kind of audio editing app (like audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/)) on those sample audio files, and normalize them. This will maximize the volume of the audio files themselves so visitors won't have to do the same thing I had to do.

As for the audition, well... I've never gotten to that point, but I can imagine how exciting and scary it can be. I'd just try and find a way to calm your nerves, relax and remember to take a deep breath before you begin the audition.

I updated the site with some samples of the "valley girl" voice that I'm auditioning for. Please let me know what you think.

(I know the sound quality is poor. I had to order a new microphone and it's not here yet. )

:)

So, I'm back from my audition. I think it went great! They had me read 3 parts (2 girls and 1 guy) and when I did the guys voice the director was like, "Cool!" I think they liked me. :D

I hope I get at least one of the parts. It's gonna be a series of shorts airing on MTV next month. It sounds pretty cool!

So, I'll let you know when I hear anything.

NOOB!
